Young Driver launches new off-road adventure with Polaris Ranger 150 EFI
Whilst they may not be old enough to drive on UK roads, 10 to 14-year-olds will now be able to take advantage of an exhilarating new off-road adventure in the UK, specifically designed for youth riders using the Polaris Ranger 150 EFI.
The UK’s largest pre-17 driving school, Young Driver, aims to establish safe driving skills by giving youngsters more opportunities to practise from a young age. Usually lessons are given in a dual-controlled car alongside a fully qualified instructor, but the new Polaris experience will enable youth drivers to try their hand at independent driving in a safe and secure off-road environment with its new fleet of Polaris Youth Ranger 150 EFI vehicles.
The 30-minute driving experience will see youngsters given tuition on how to use the vehicle before trying it for themselves on a specially designed course. A parent is able to accompany the driver in the side-by-side vehicle if desired.
“We’re delighted to announce that we have added the exciting Polaris Youth Ranger to our range of driving experiences for under 17s. Our aim is always to give young people a varied and safe introduction to driving, and we know that giving them a longer time to learn the basics behind the wheel in an unpressured environment helps to make them safer drivers when they go on to pass their test. The Polaris Youth Ranger gives them the opportunity to try being independently in control of a vehicle as well as experiencing what driving on different terrains feels like – and they’re definitely going to have a lot of fun!”
Polaris Ranger 150 EFI
A youth version of Polaris’ bestselling Ranger utility vehicle, the Ranger 150 EFI is the industry’s first youth vehicle with smart safety features, making it the ideal vehicle for youth riders to enjoy safely.
The Ranger combines key safety, technology and performance features, offering a great way for riders to hone their independent driving skills. At 150cc of power with electronic fuel injection, 8” of ground clearance and 22-inch tyres, the RANGER 150 EFI is ready for a full day of safe riding allowing riders to drive over undulating fields and challenging terrain with ease. Easily operated with automatic PVT transmission (forward/neutral/reverse), plus hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear, as well as comfortable with adjustable seats and tilt steering wheel for the perfect fit.
The Ranger 150 features geofencing capabilities so parents – or instructors in this case – can keep young riders in safe, set parameters whilst riding. From the Ride Command app, the ride boundaries and specific speed limits can be controlled both inside and outside a geofenced area. Digital speed limiting ensures that the kids are riding at the appropriate speed for their age, experience and terrain, and can be easily increased as they become more confident.
With safety always being a top priority, drivers will always wear a helmet and appropriate PPE whilst behind the wheel.
The Polaris Youth Rangers are available to drive at Three Counties Showground in Malvern, East of England Showground in Peterborough, and Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. To find out more or to book a lesson go to the Young Driver website.
The Ranger 150 EFI starts at £4,199 excluding VAT and is available in Sage Green. For 2023, the Youth Ranger will be available in the new Avalanche Grey colour.
