Electric vehicles drive a sustainable future. Over in the Middle East, the Ranger EV is part of a wider campaign to create awareness of the responsibility to conserve and protect the environment. The fourth instalment of Ranger Stories travels to the United Arab Emirates to visit Bee’ah – a leading Environmental Management company delivering first-class environmental strategies for waste management and sustainability with modern technology. In 2017, the company launched the Polaris Ranger EV as the first-ever electric desert cleaning vehicle in the Middle East to help them build the foundations for a better, sustainable future. With its off-road capabilities on the sand, the EV allows the workers at Bee’ah to collect waste left on the dunes in the area of Sharjah; an unfortunate consequence of having some of the best desert areas in the world. 

Bee’ah use the cargo bed of the vehicle to store the plastic bags that are filled with hand-picked waste, and thanks to its stability, they don’t tip out when the units are travelling across the dunes. With long battery life, the units can spend a lot of time out in the desert before they need to charge the Ranger.
