Polaris Technical Specialists nominated for Motor Industry award
Polaris Off Road’s Technical Specialists, Kenny Kay and Rob Jameson were nominated for the Contribution of Work to the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) award for their work training all Polaris UK dealers to an IMI Level 3 standard before they could purchase the new all-electric RANGER XP Kinetic.
Since the announcement of the all-new, all-electric RANGER XP Kinetic to the Polaris UTV lineup in 2021, Polaris UK’s technical specialists have been working with the IMI to ensure comprehensive electric vehicle training is provided for all Polaris dealers who would be working with these machines. Since then, Rob and Kenny have ensured all Polaris dealers have been trained to an IMI Level 3 standard and have continued to advise the dealers on how to give the best support to customers purchasing the Polaris’ RANGER XP Kinetic, resulting in over 100 EV bookings with the IMI Centres in the last two years, setting the standard for working on electric vehicles.
Kenny Kay, Technical Specialist at Polaris UK said: “It is great that the IMI, a prestigious institute, that drives innovation, employment and economic growth within the motor industry, recognise both employers and employees for the great work they are doing. Our EV training programs have really paid off. We felt that there was a big knowledge gap which has now been filled with an understanding of new electric vehicle platforms. These platforms are completely different to internal combustion engines, which our technicians have been used to, but as we progress, we hope to continue our role with growing EV knowledge in the industry.”
Rob Jameson, Technical Specialist at Polaris UK said: “I’ve been working with the IMI since 2015, and have been a member since 2019. I’m pleased to be aligned with an organisation that values high-quality training and continuous improvement, setting the benchmark for technical qualifications in the UK. Working with the IMI to upskill our Polaris dealer network with high-voltage electric vehicle qualifications has been extremely valuable, both to us as the manufacturer and the dealers, to ensure we provide the highest level of service to our end customers. It’s fantastic that the IMI has recognised Polaris’ efforts for this.”
The RANGER XP Kinetic drives the industry forward with an impressive all-electric powertrain delivering 110hp and 140lb-ft of instantaneous torque whilst offering smooth, precise control when operating at low speeds, particularly useful in towing or backing up to a trailer. The three-seater UTV will effortlessly tow 1,134kg and has a payload capacity of 680kg – making light work of the everyday.
Now available in UK dealers, the Ranger XP Kinetic is available in both the Premium and Ultimate trim. The Premium trim is available from £29,199 excluding VAT, offering up to 45 miles of range on a single charge, whereas the Ultimate trim offers up to 80 miles and pricing starts at £37,599.
Kenny and Rob are also part of the Ask the Expert series that is taking place on Polaris UK’s Facebook and Instagram social channels.
