Polaris Profile: Neil Pirie, Polaris UK District Sales Manager
Six months after joining the Polaris UK team, we thought it was about time you met Neil Pirie, the newest District Sales Manager looking after Scotland and the north.
Neil – you’ve not long joined the team, what was your background before this?
“After spending a long career in the motor industry working for brands such as Volkswagen, Land Rover and BMW, I felt it was time for a new challenge. I came across Polaris’ job advert and knew I was a good fit for the role and the company.”
What were your main reasons for joining Polaris?
“I knew Polaris were market leaders and having worked for high-quality brands in the past, wanted to continue with a top-quality brand.”
Did you have any experience with the brand before joining?
“I had ridden Polaris ATVs in the past and loved the brand ethos and the off-road culture.”
Since joining, what does your new day-to-day look like?
“It’s super varied. One day, I might be helping dealers with sales and marketing strategies, the next conducting performance reviews, and then providing social media training the day after. I have 25 dealers from Lincolnshire to Shetland and they vary from solus Polaris dealers to multi-site tractor dealers, so all have individual needs and requirements.”
What’s your favourite part of your job?
“It is a lovely industry to be involved in and we have the best dealer network with some amazing characters. I love the daily interactions and the satisfaction of solving problems for our dealers and growing their numbers.”
If you were to have one vehicle from the Polaris line-up, what would it be?
“It would have to be the Polaris Ranger Diesel. It is the market leader and is the pinnacle of UTV technology and quality. The latest model stands head and shoulders against all competition.”
What’s one thing people may not know about you?
“When I left school I joined the RAF Regiment and served all over the world.”
