Polaris Profile: Amy Cahill, Marketing Manager at Polaris UK & Ireland
Next in our Polaris Profile series is Marketing Manager, Amy Cahill who, after having a background in motorcycles, jumped ship to the ATV industry.
Amy – tell us how your time with Polaris began…
“Before working in the ATV market, I had a background working in the motorcycle industry. Polaris offered me a position that encompasses both on- and off-road sides of the company and I’ve been here for just over six years now. I look after all aspects of marketing for the UK and Southern Ireland – covering things from dealer marketing support to product launches and the overall brand strategy. One day is never the same.”
What were your main reasons for joining Polaris?
“I have been riding ATVs since I was little and just love to be in the outdoors. It’s a great brand with great products and people – it is always evolving and I look forward to where it goes next.”
Did you have any experience with the brand before joining?
“I spent time in Australia a few years ago, and when working on the farmland I became very familiar with the Polaris products as they were part of the day-to-day tasks. I also knew about Polaris from one of Polaris’ other brands, Indian Motorcycle; they used to be one of my previous jobs’ competitors.”
If we were to spend a working day with you, what would that look like?
“I don’t think I have ever had a standard day-to-day in the whole six years I have worked at Polaris. With over 60 dealers to support, events to organise, product messaging to push out and marketing plans to create and approve, it changes daily. You could say that my day-to-day is filled with Teams calls, meetings and emails but that sounds really boring and it’s not.”
What’s your favourite part of your job?
“Without a doubt, the people. I am so lucky to get to work with such a wonderful and varied network, the team within Polaris, the agencies I get to work with and the dealers are amazing! As well as the amazing teams, I also have to say that I have been super lucky to have experienced some great riding opportunities with Polaris. We really do make some awesome machines.”
Out of the extensive Polaris line-up is there one model that sticks out to you in particular?
“I absolutely love the ATVs, I jump at the chance to ride any Sportsman. The thrill and sense of freedom you get when riding them is amazing. Even thinking about riding one I can’t help but smile.”
What’s one thing people may be surprised to know about you?
“If we are keeping this Polaris focussed I suppose it would have to be the wonderful opportunity I got to take part in back in September 2022. I was part of the all-female team that took on Polaris’ Outlanding Project in Iceland. Tackling over 1,200km of Icelandic trails on a week-long 100% outdoor expedition across the volcanic landscape. It certainly made memories with a group of incredible women that will last a lifetime.”
