Polaris dealer where customers are friends makes finals of Scottish Agriculture Awards
A Polaris dealer is celebrating after making the shortlist the prestigious Scottish Agriculture Awards.
Stratton ATV, based on the Inveralmond Industrial Estate in Perth, was one of three finalists in the Machinery Dealer of the Year category.
The business just missed out on winning the award at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Glasgow earlier this month but was delighted to make the final three.
We were over the moon with the nomination, then to make it down to the final three was really special. It means a lot. Through the hard work that is carried out throughout the year, to receive recognition is really something to be proud of.
Stratton ATV has been in business for 10 years this year and has grown from being just Iain working on his own, to a team of four staff.
The business specialises in Polaris vehicles, and it is this which Iain believes sets Stratton apart from other dealers in Scotland.
He said: “We started in 2015 when I moved on from working for the old Polaris dealer in Perthshire and took on the area. We cover Perthshire and surrounding counties supplying to a varied customer base including sporting estates and farms.
“From starting it myself to now being a small team of four, we specialise in Polaris and believe this sets us aside from the rest.”
Farmers and landowners make up a large part of Stratton ATV’s customer base. The biggest seller for the dealer is the Polaris Ranger diesel model and it has just added the electric-powered Ranger XP Kinetic to its offering.
Whether they are supplying a vehicle to a single worker on a small holding or a large country estate, Stratton ATV also finds itself part of a rural community which the business is proud to be at the heart of.
Iain added: “Polaris vehicles are hugely important for the day-to-day work on farms and estates. Many of our customers just couldn’t carry out their business without their Polaris.
“We put customer service at the forefront of what we do, and many have become friends over and above being customers.”
Over the next few years, Iain hopes to be able to add more staff members to the team and also sees the future of machinery, UTVs and ATVs in Scottish agriculture as innovative and fast moving – with a focus on efficiency and being environmentally friendly.
Stratton ATV is no stranger to winning awards. Within its first year in business, the firm was named Best New Dealer for Polaris. The following year it was named Dealer of the Year and is now the third best-selling Polaris dealer in the UK.
