    FAREWELL, COLIN MARTIN!

It is with sadness and gratitude that we bid farewell to the main man of the British SXS Championship paddock, Colin Martin, as he steps down from his position as Clerk of the Course to pursue his own philanthropic goals.

With his larger-than-life personality, constant generosity and unwavering support of the SXS racers to help them achieve their goals, both the SXS Championship paddock and the Polaris family say farewell to a core member of the team after 12 years of dedication to the sport.

Alongside the founder of the SXS series, Martin Fletcher, who sadly passed away last year, Colin has been at the heart of the championship since its inception in 2011: A championship that has grown from a seedling of an idea to the leading championship for all makes and models of SXS across the country, and a championship that has pioneered the global SXS racing industry, being one of the first SXS championships in the world to open its tracks to a Youth class and developing the next generation of off-road riders.

“There is no question over what Colin has achieved for the SXS racing scene here in the UK, and that extends to what he has achieved for us as a brand in the sport and leisure market”, said Richard Coleby, National Sales Manager at Polaris UK. “We’ve been proud to support the British SXS Championship since the very beginning, and together, we’ve been continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible in a sport SXS and develop new opportunities for riders young and old to explore the racing scene.

“But it’s not just the vehicles and the race setup that makes the British SXS Championship special. Competitors have the utmost respect for the people at the helm, and that breeds a special comradery between everyone involved with the sport. That sense of community has paved the way for the sport to become what it is today.

“Colin has played a pivotal role in all that is SXS racing, so for everything, we want to say thank you, Colin, and we wish you all the best of luck with your future endeavours.”

Colin now passes the baton to Tom Fletcher—an accomplished SXS racer himself and involved with his father, Martin Fletcher, from the very start—who provides a very safe set of hands to take the championship from strength to strength in the future.
